jaboopee garden design reveal

And now for the grand reveal of our recent garden design project.

Maire, is a lovely neighbour of ours. I recently did the stained glass restoration in her front door and when Maire saw our garden she loved it so much she asked us to design and build a new garden for her.

We started the work at the end of May and it took us over 4 weeks.

This is the result .......

Detail shot of water feature. Maire wanted a very subtle feature

and asked us to incorporate the old family Belfast sink,

Detail shot of paving

I love the texture contrasts of the Indian sandstone and the pebble,

we choose the paint to mirror exactly the 'green' in the sandstone.

Detail shot of seating
Red cedar seating and edging

Detail shot of storage box ,(for recyclables)
and garden hose

Detail shot of some of the edible planting section ,

I love all the different texture and materials contrast here.

Another view of patio area 2

My favourite part was choosing the planting

patio area 2

Just 4 small trees in each corner of this area ,

to enclose and separate the space.

We are really proud of this garden , and more importantly Maire loves it.
It was such a pleasure to work for her and it was a fantastic opportunity

for myself and Joe to collaborate on a garden project .

Side Project-My Garden

Behind the scenes here in Jaboopee, I'm putting the wheels in motion for my sculpture for this .
I'm also grabbing available minutes to prepare the other bed-end for gilding.

So today, It's just a few photos of the flowers in bloom in my garden in july....

On Friday I've scheduled the grand reveal of our garden design.

My poor poor computer has finally given up the ghost and gasped her last gasp,

I've finally succumbed and bought a new one and that should be delivered any day now.

If things are a bit quiet around here it'll be because I haven't 'bonded' with the new one yet

side project: my garden in june

My own garden is looking at its loveliest now,

what with this gorgeous sunshine and al fresco dining.

2 years ago I got my new studio built and my old back garden
that i'd lovingly tended for 10 years had to go, the only thing
we managed to save was the central portugese laurel tree
that my mother in law bought us when we first moved in.

Myself and joe created this garden you now see from scratch ,
It's our third baby.

This is the shady part of the garden,

My unfinished masterpiece. Our old couch, transformed
with a cement coating and awaiting mosaic adornment.

MY herbaceous border, ever since I saw the herbaceous
border in the botanic gardens I've coveted one.

Joe's shed aka Joes studio aka "ma's building a room for christy"

Right side of garden

Left side of garden :
And now for some close ups

Ginko ,ferns and mosaic dragonflies

the portugese laurel about to bloom

beautiful geraniums

bees love my foxgloves and why wouldn't they?
look at pollen on that!

My honeysuckle and other assorted gorgeousness
and below the same image at night time.

Night time sitting in the garden in June in Ireland still
involves coat wearing .

My summer dress and my winter coat..
Have a very happy weekend.
