Back to matters of a glassy nature:
There are so many ways to work with glass creatively .
My work is mainly using what we call, 'Cold-Glass' techniques .
Fusing' is one of the 'Hot-Glass' techniques I've really enjoyed
experimenting with.
This is a photo of one of my fused glass panels .
The Fire Station Artists Studio have a brillant programme of workshops, This panel resulted from one such workshop given by glass artist extraordinaire Michelle O'Donnell
Fusing involves cutting the glass to shapes and melting it in a kiln onto a prepared surface .
For my panel above, the surface was clear glass ,and the shaped indentations were created by drawing into the chalk/powder base that the glass rested on in the kiln.
Michelle is the absolute queen of fused glass and you can see some more examples of her beautiful work by visiting her website here: Glasshammer .
